Sheik Mainland's 3Min Project: MUFS-S5 Fortress Model Kit Review

Image
I ordered 3 sets of Sheik Mainland's 3Min Project: MUFS-S5 Fortress model kits for about 9 USD a pop. Each box has 3 sets of sprues, letting you build 3 mechs total. So that's only about 3 bucks per mech.    You know, I've been collecting and reviewing toys for quite some time and at some point, despite having plenty of toys to review, it became a huge struggle to actually review them because there's nothing to talk about. And it's not necessarily because the figures were bad. Far from it. I mean, take G.I. Joe Classifieds for instance. They're pretty much all great figures because they all pretty much use the same engineering for the main body and they typically look aesthetically pleasing; so all I can really talk about them are the accessories that they come with and whether their costumes or designs get in the way of their articulation. So imagine my delight as I built my first, and then second and so far up to sixth Fortress figure; to find that I have pl...

CCS Toys UMA Series: Ultraman Belial

Image
I pre-ordered CCS Toys' UMA Series: Ultraman Belial for about 56 USD. Wouldn't you know it, a week  after I pulled the trigger and placed my order, Blokees announced their Legends grade Ultraman Kaiser Belial. Oof. The short of it is, skip CCS Toys' UMA Series: Ultraman Belial. I love my original Ultra-Act Belial, but Ultra-Act's dead. He's still compatible with the smaller S.H. Figuarts Ultraman figures but I felt it was about time I got a newer iteration, especially since I've been getting the larger scale ACG, ZD and even Blokees Legends Ultraman lately, so I wanted something on the bigger side as well. ZD figures usually look great but that's about it. There's been some improvement to their paint durability in their recent offerings but generally, I'm not that big a fan of ZD unless I just want a figure purely for display. Hence why I was on the fence with their at the time, upcoming, Belial. So when I saw CCS Toys was also coming out with an a...

Storm Arena Hanma Baki

Image
I pre-ordered Storm Arena's 1/12 Hanma Baki for about 34 USD. Back when I did, I wasn't aware of their upcoming Storm Arena Street Fighter figures. I just wanted to test out the new Storm Arena (SA) line and see how it compared to the bigger Storm Collectibles that I've handled. I figured that Baki's a pretty no-frills character, so he should be able to show off the articulation and build quality of Storm Arena. The first thing you'll notice with Baki is how small he is. Which I'll be honest, at first, it was kind of a disappointment to me. That said, the character has always been a short king. Just about every character in the manga is taller or bigger than him. Officially, his height was 5'2" when he was a young teen and 5'6" when he hit his late teens. Which actually means that he's a true 1/12, as the figure stands 5.5" (14 cm). If you can't handle him as a short king, he's still compatible with other true 1/12 figure lin...
