McFarlane Lex Luthor Deluxe Theatrical Edition Review

Image
What is it? McFarlane's rendition of Lex Luthor played by Nicholas Hoult, from James Gunn's Superman (2025) movie. Is it good? It's pretty good by McFarlane movie figure standards. Overall, the articulation and sculpt is what you'd expect from a suited figure by McFarlane, but the face sculpts are better than previous movie face sculpts that McFarlane's done. You get some nice extras, including the baby kaiju, which is actually kind of underwhelming and tends to topple forward because of it's front-centric center of gravity. Joints are all quite tight as well. Some might say, out of the box, the major points of articulation (elbows and knees) are a bit too tight even.  Should I buy it?   It kind of depends but probably yes. If you've watched and enjoyed the movie, or you don't already have a Lex Luthor, then this guy's a solid get. Pricing & What you get for it : I pre-ordered this for RM150 (35.25 USD) plus shipping, which as it turned out...

McFarlane Superman Robot #4 Deluxe Theatrical Edition Review

Image
What is it? McFarlane's toy of Superman Robot #4 from the Superman (2025) movie. Is it good? It's adequate... on a good day. Robot Superman #4 w/ Cyborg Superman   Should I buy it? Probably not. There are two 1.5 reasons as to why you might want to get this guy though. 1) You're aware of and are a fan on the concept of the Superman Robots from the comics. 1.5) You would like a representation of a Superman Robot for your collection. 2) You've seen the Superman (2025) movie. 2.5) You've totally fallen for #4's charm over the duration of his screentime. 3) Bonus reason to get this guy: You're already collecting the other figures from this toyline/movie tie-in, and you need him to complete your set. If the answers to the above are not "yes", consider skipping him and saving your hard earned dosh.  Next to Lewin Resources Steel Fortress' head One Kryptonian robot to another, next to Braniac Here's why: Dark Clouds : First up is his lesser bang f...

McFarlane Superman & Krypto Deluxe Theatrical Edition Review: Is this CorenSWEAT or CorenSWEET?

Image
What is it? McFarlane's rendition of James Gunn's Superman (2025) movie, played by David Corenswet. This is the pricier version that you should get over the regular release. Is it good? Hmm, it's not bad. In fact, not only is it good, but it's above average by McFarlane's recent standards. I mean, it's not mind blowingly great but yeah, it's good. Superman vs Doomsday Should I buy it? Yeah, probably. There are a few things to consider, but I'd say, go ahead and get it. And here's why. Pricing & What you get for it : I pre-ordered this for RM150 (35.25 USD) plus shipping, which as it turned out, was not the best deal I could have had. But it ain't so bad. Anyway, it's a little pricier than a standard McFarlane, but for the extra few bucks, you get a wired cloth cape as opposed to the plastic cape from the regular release. You also get Krypto, who also comes with a cloth cape. An extra pair of hands and 3 extra faces, although only the heat...

Blokees Legend Ultraman Noa Review: A Joy to Build

Image
What is it? A model kit from Blokees for you to build a fully articulated  Ultraman Noa that stands about 7.5 inches, from head to toe. It's under their Legend line of kits, not to be confused with the many many other kit-lines that Blokees dishes out, such as the Defender, Shining or Galaxy Versions (which also has a Noa). Unlike those, Legend is not a blind box. Is it good? Oh yeah, it sure is. That's why I'm blogging this.  Should I buy it?  Yup, totally. I pre-ordered it for RM128.25 (30 USD) shipped.  For that price, you not only get a great kit, but once fully assembled, it's basically an action figure that's compatible with stuff like the McFarlane DC stuff or ACG Spectrum's line of Ultraman figures. Given Noa's lore, he's also compatible with smaller figures like the SH Figuarts Ultraman line or heck, he could be a giant for your 1/18 scale figs. It also comes with a ton of accessories like extra hands, effects parts, an articulated display ...
